Amazing News: 500+ homes plan near Askham Bog rejected!!!!

The Secretary of State’s decision to dismiss plans for more than 500+ homes on land next to Askham Bog was met with joy and great delight from residents and wildlife campaigners!!! 

CPRE North Yorkshire had strongly objected to this proposal and fully supported the objection of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and their campaign to maintain the precious nature of this area.   We(CPRENY) are delighted with the appeal being dismissed!!

Sir David Attenborough backed a campaign to see the planning application turned down.   A campaign was launched to halt the plans – and following a three week planning enquiry in November 2019.

We provided sufficient evidence to endorse refusal of this application.

The application was unanimously refused.
